A MESSAGE FOR YOU

From Chief
Spencer Lyons

You opened your space to this conversation. Onondaga Chief Spencer Lyons — Onondaga Nation, and a voice in the series — wanted to say thank you directly.

Watch this before your screening. It's a reminder of who you're doing this for, and what it means that you said yes.

YOUR TOOLKIT

Your host toolkit

Everything you need to prepare, promote, and run your screening — in one place. The Host Guide is your first stop.

  • Host Guide & Toolkit

    START HERE

The Host Guide is your complete reference from the moment you sign up through the night of your screening and beyond. It covers how to set up your space, how to introduce the film, how to hold the room when things get real, and what to do after everyone goes home.

  • Screening Discussion Guide

    FACILITATION TOOL

A curated set of questions and prompts designed to open conversation after the film — not to direct it. Organized by episode and theme, with notes on how to read the room and when to let silence do its work. You don't need to use every question. Pick the ones that feel alive for your group.

  • Screening Announcement Graphic

    PROMOTIONAL ASSET

A ready-to-use branded graphic for announcing your screening to your network. Works for social media posts, email invitations, text messages, and digital newsletters. Available in multiple formats to fit wherever you're sharing.
    ‍ ‍

  • Host Marketing Journey Timeline

    PROMOTIONAL GUIDE

A week-by-week roadmap of what to share, when, and where — from the moment you confirm your date to the day after your screening. Takes the guesswork out of building an audience and makes sure the right people hear about your event at the right time.

  • Host Checklist

    DAY OF REFERENCE

A practical checklist organized by phase — weeks before, the day before, the morning of, and right before guests arrive. Print it out and keep it close. It's designed to be the one thing you can look at when you're busy and still know exactly what to do next.

  • Host FAQ

    QUICK REFERENCE

Answers to the questions hosts ask most — how many people to invite, what to do if the conversation gets tense, what happens if Michelle joins, how to handle the tech, and more. Written for real situations, not hypothetical ones.

The complete video playlist in order — from welcome through discussion. Everything queued up so you can focus on your guests, not the tech.

NIGHT OF THE SCREENING

Play these videos in order

Press play on each video in sequence. You don't need to know every answer — you just need to hold the space. The videos do the teaching. You do the hosting.

01

PLAY FIRST — AS GUESTS ARRIVE

Welcome Video

Greets guests as they settle in. Sets a warm, intentional tone before the conversation begins.

02

PLAY SECOND

Promo + Campaign Explainer

Combined video: opens with the promo, then Michelle explains the campaign and what guests are part of tonight.

03

PLAY THIRD — THE MAIN EVENT

Rematriated Voices Episode(s)

Screen one or more episodes from PBS. See the Discussion Guide for episode pairing suggestions.

04

PLAY FOURTH — THE ASK

CTA Video

Invites guests to host their own screening or become monthly supporters. Lands best after they've just experienced something together.

STEP 5 — IF GUESTS WANT TO HOST

Share the Host Promo and your hosting assets

If anyone in your room wants to host their own screening, share the Host Promo video and the Announcement Graphic. They can sign up at Rematriation.com.

AFTER THE VIDEOS

Open the Discussion Guide.
Let the room take it from here.

FROM REMATRIATION, WITH GRATITUDE

Thank you for
doing this

What you're doing matters more than you may know. Every screening you host creates a room where this knowledge can travel — person to person, community to community — the way it always has. You're not just showing a film. You're holding space for something that has the power to shift how people think about this land, this democracy, and their place in it.

We are grateful. The Haudenosaunee knowledge keepers who trusted us with their voices are grateful. And the people who will sit in your room — even if they don't know it yet — are grateful too. Thank you for saying yes.

COMMON QUESTIONS

You probably
have questions

  • There's no minimum or maximum — but the best conversations tend to happen with 8–20 people. Big enough to have real diversity of perspective. Small enough that everyone gets to speak. Twelve is a sweet spot.

  • No. A laptop connected to a TV, a tablet propped up on a table, or any screen people can gather around works fine. You'll receive a private screening link. The goal is togetherness, not production value.

  • The Discussion Guide does most of the work. You don't need to be an expert — you just need to be curious and willing to hold space. The questions are designed to open things up, not direct them. Trust your guests.

  • Michelle's direct participation is reserved for qualifying hosts, based on screening size, audience, and geographic reach. If you're interested, reach out and let's talk about your event — we'll let you know if it's a fit.

  • Incentives are distributed after your screening is complete. You'll receive a follow-up from the Rematriation team within two weeks of your event date to coordinate delivery.

  • Yes — and we love it when hosts do. If you want to host a second or third screening with a different audience, reach out to the team. We'll support you the same way we did the first time.
